A bit more info about my tote bags
~ I use a professional heat press to transfer the image onto the bag for a more durable design
~ The bags are made from 5oz unbleached natural cotton, please note unbleached cotton can sometimes have some small flecks
~ I purchase the blank bags from a company called WBC (bags for life) the bags are ethically produced in India as part of the Cocobagh Social Business Venture set up by WBC - a social business venture in West Bengal to create training and employment opportunities for the community surrounding WBC production facility. Aimed at members of the community who are marginalised through cultural or social reasons they are focused on empowering widowed women who don’t have access to training or employment. Their goal is to support these women by providing them with the basic finances, the skills needed and a route to employment – so that they can afford for their children to go to school. A proportion of profits on every bag sold by WBC is donated to charity each year - the Prince’s Trust in the UK, and the WBC Foundation directly supporting the Indian communities that makes the range. You can read more about Cocobagh's work here :- Cocobagh.org
Caring for your Tote bag
To prolong the life of your bag using a wet sponge/cloth to get rid of any marks is best however you can use a washing machine if needed & iron your bag but to make sure the image quality isn’t affected please follow
the instructions below:-
When you wash your bag turn it inside out, it rubs less against the image and it will make
it a lot more durable. So, turn it inside out and use a normal 30 degree wash with a full
spin cycle (either cotton or fast wash is Ok)
For ironing the bag I recommend you turn it inside out and NEVER IRON ON THE
EXPOSED IMAGE as the heat of the iron will start reacting again with the transfer and
could create a mess and shorten the lifespan of the image. With the bag turned inside out
use a medium temp setting for ironing over where the image is sat you can then use a
higher setting to do the sides & the handles.
When you come to turn your bag the right way round again you may find the image has
slightly stuck to the other side of the bag if this is the case just leave the bag to cool before
you turn it back around and then gently pull the image away from the opposite side
